Rooouuule rooouuule rooouuule

Tu ne sais pas qui te roulera

Rooouuule rooouuule rooouuule

Ici ou là mais ton heure viendra

LAST CHRISTMAS DAY POST : THE YOBS

THE YOBS Christmas Album 1980 Safari Records 320 kbps

Rub-a-dum-dum / The ballad of the Warrington / Another Christmas / Doggy / Jingle bells / Auld lang syne / Silent night / Silver bells / C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S / Gloria / 12 days of Christmas / White Christmas / We wish you a merry Christmas / May the good Lord bless & keep you / Rudolph the red nosed reindeer (bonus) / Christmas eve in a boozer (bonus) / Christmas in jail (bonus) .

Produced by Daft Fader

The Yobs 1980 were : N. Oldfield / K. Vicious / E. Polak / H. J. Bedwetter

The worst of the Yobs" .

The Yobs were the alter-egos of The Boys. Having released an album and two singles on NEMS, they decided to rearrange the 'B' and 'Y' and became The Yobs for their Christmas 1977 single "Run Rudolph Run" c/w "Worm Song". Following the release of "Alternative Chartbusters" The Boys went into dispute with their record company and bootlegged themselves as The Yobs for their Christmas 1978 offering of "Silent Night" c/w "Stille Nacht".

After signing for Safari in 1979 "Little Drummer Boy" was given The Yobs treatment and appeared as "Rub A Dum Dum" in time for Christmas. To promote "Rub A Dum Dum" The Yobs appeared live at the Safari Christmas Party on 29 November 1979 at the Music Machine with ex-Heavy Metal Kids vocalist Gary Holton as MC. They were supported by fellow Safari stable mates Toyah and The Boys! The Yobs came on with stockings over their heads to conceal their identities but only managed to play a few songs before the stage was invaded by punks. The over-enthusiastic stage invaders wrecked all the equipment including the hired tubular bells and PA system, so the gig had to be abandoned. Understandably, it was to be the only time the five original Yobs appeared live on stage together although they have made a few live appearances in recent years featuring different line-ups. The most notable being as support to Die Toten Hosen in Germany. After Baron von Bratboy had left the band they released "The Yobs Christmas Album" in 1980, adopting the names of H J Bedwetter, Noddy Oldfield, Ebenezer Polak and Kid Vicious. In true Yobs style the album was written, recorded and mixed in two days at Pete Townsend’s Eel Pie Studios.
In 1981 H J Bedwetter and Noddy Oldfield recorded a mickey take on the thenpopular "Stars on 45" singles which were flooding the charts of the time. The result was the ultra rare "Yobs On 45".

The Yobs resurfaced in 1991 with "Xmas 11" and also supported Die Toten Hosen on their German tour. In 1995 they released a live and unplugged album "Leads 3 Amps Utd 0".Due to popular demand The Yobs began considering releasing a "Best Of" collection in 2000. Unfortunately as their albums have been released on three different record labels it was not possible to have all their best songs released together on one album. To get around this they decided to re-record the best of their old material.

Consequently the five original Yobs were re-united in the recording studios during September/October 2001 alongside new drummer Johnny Hosepipe. They re-recorded 15 old classics alongside one new song, "Who Had All The Christmas Cake?". The resultant album, "The Worst Of The Yobs"was released in time for Christmas 2001.

Produced by M. S. Berry
Teenage Head 1996 were : F. Venom : vocals / G. Lewis : guitar / S. Marshall : bass /M. Lockerbie : drums

In 1988, Frankie Venom's (who has left Teenage Head to pursue a solo career ) long awaited return to the band was diminished by drummer Nick Stipanitz leaving the band due to personal issues. He was replaced by Mark Lockerbie and the boys eventually recorded the critically acclaimed LP Head Disorder. Soon after, the legal wrangling began as the band sought to recover royalties that had been misappropriated over the years by their long time manager; a battle that was ruled on by the courts in the bands favour.
Yet, while facing a series of overwhelming setbacks, the band refused to die. And 32 years after they got together, 3/4 of the original band joined by veteran drummer Jack Pedler, is in the final stage of restoring Teenage Head to it's former glory.
Starting with their first release in 12 years, recorded with the legend and Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame inductee Marky Ramone on drums and Daniel Rey producing. The band continues to pack clubs with old, and new fans with performances in the spirit of the old days while their historical first album has been remastered and released on the band's own label Lobotronics (2005) Inc.
(...and in the same time "Frantic city" & "Some kinda fun" remastered , released on Unidisc Music !)

Teenage Head 1982 : same members than in 1980

As Gord convalesced, the band turned back to working the local club circuit using hired gun guitarists to fill in, but the disappointment left the band scarred and they soon succumbed to the typical demons that many bands fall victim to. Soon after Gord's return saw the release of their third album, "Some Kinda Fun" , which contained the classics "Let's Go To Hawaii", "Teenage Beer Drinkin' Party", and the title track. It was commercially successful but drew criticism from long time fans as slick and overproduced; a fine collection of songs but marred by Beach Boy type backing vocals.

TEENAGE HEAD - Frantic City

TEENAGE HEAD Frantic city 1980 Attic Records 320 kbps
Wild one / Somethin' on my mind / Total love / Let's shake ! / Infected / Those things you do / Somethin' else / Take it / Brand new Cadillac / Disgusteen / Let's shake (bonus track-new version) / I wanna love you (bonus track-live)
Produced by S. Heydon
Teenage Head 1980 : same members than in 1979

With their next album, "Frantic City", which contained the signature songs "Let's Shake" and "Disgusteen", they handily beat the dreaded "sophomore album jinx". And perhaps more importantly, they had a deal to distribute the album nationally with Attic Records. But while the future of Teenage Head looked promising, things were about to slowly fall apart.
The tour in support of the album brought the band to The Forum at Ontario Place; and was alleged to have incited what was the first and worst full scale riots at a rock concert in Canada. According to history books, Teenage Head was responsible for the policy that banned rock concerts from that venue for at least a decade. They're still not welcome. Any opportunity to set the record straight was sabotoged by a car accident on the eve of the bands first major U.S. tour. In the early hours of the morning on an ice slicked highway, guitarist Gord Lewis broke his back, forcing them to cancel what was to be the most important tour of their careers.

Teenage Head 1979 were : F. Venom : vocals / G. Lewis : guitar / S. Marshall : bass / N. Stipanitz : drums

Teenage Head came together in the early 70's when four young guys from Westdale High School in Hamilton, Ontario decided to form a band. Gord Lewis, Frank Kerr, Steve Mahon, and Nick Stipanitz weren't buddies, but each had a strong interest in the same type of music. By May 1978 they released their first independant single "Picture My Face" and quickly became part of the scene exploding in Toronto. The legendary self-titled debut album followed a year later, but despite it's "muddy" production, it turned the heads of many because it perfectly captured the spirit of the era. What's more, it showcased the band's talent as writers, with the ability to craft songs that would continue to stand the test of time; even by today's standards. And unlike many others from that era, they could perform live; and they did throughout the "new music" circuit of clubs of Southern Ontario, including the short-lived Crash 'n Burn club and the notorious "Last Pogo" festival. Fans were captivated by Gord's intensity, Steve's indifference, and Frankie's (now known as Frankie Venom) "real wild child" frontman persona.

Screaming Iguanas Of Love 1992 were :
G. Reinel : guitars & lead vocals / J. T. Burley : bass , vocals / D. Burley : drums , vocals

Unapologetically retro, the Screaming Iguanas of Love were formed in Melbourne, Florida in the late 1980s, but played many songs that could have been written in the early to mid-1960s. On "Glad you weren't there" and "Wild Wild Wild" , the trio favors melodic rock and roll drawing on such influences as the Beatles, the Dave Clark Five, the Monkees and the Bobby Fuller Four. The British Invasion obviously had a major impact on their sound, although some of their influences (including the Box Tops and Fuller) are very American. A band that provides material as enjoyable as "Never Let You Fall," "Let It Down" and the sentimental "I Think of You" should be a lot better known, but the truth is that the Iguanas were about as obscure as it gets.

THE LONG RYDERS - Three Minute Warnings

THE LONG RYDERS Three minute warnings-Live In New York City 2006 Prima Records Ltd 320 kbpsThere ought to be more live albums like this -- the Long Ryders were among the finest bands in the early 1980s "paisley underground" scene, but they only left behind three good LPs in their two-year history, so this CD fills a necessary gap in their output; and it's also a jewel of a concert album. The quartet played The Bottom Line in 1985 in conjunction with the release of their final album, Two Fisted Tales, but their repertory for the show was drawn from across their respective members' history. The fact is that they're so "on" for this show, recalling Television on "Capturing the Flag" or "I Want You Bad," or the Byrds-like "Man of Misery," or the slashing punk attack on "Prairie Fire," that it almost wouldn't have mattered what they played, as long as they played this way. Steve McCarthy's and Sid Griffin's guitars crunch and cut away at folk-ish and country-like melodies, sounding a lot like a garage punk version of the Eagles, and the vocals all have a spellbinding immediacy, at times recalling Dylan in his younger days, at other moments the Flamin' Groovies' Cyril Jordan, and, at others, Roger McGuinn on a day he never had so good at the microphone -- and also they move into Beach Boys territory by way of Chuck Berry, as on "State of My Union." Taken from a professionally made broadcast tape, the fidelity is as good as one might hope for, and as high as any live album one cares to name, and with no after-the-fact sweetening, either.

THE YAYHOOS - Live @ The Underground

THE YAYHOOS Live @ the Underground 10/05/2002 Bootleg 320 kbps
Individually and alphabetically, the Yayhoos are:
Eric Ambel: Founding member of the Del-Lords and Joan Jett's Blackhearts, lead guitarist of Steve Earle's Dukes (2000/2005), sometime solo artist and leader of the esteemed Roscoe's Gang and Roscoe Trio, co-proprietor of East Village nightspot the Lakeside Lounge, and producer of albums by a variety of acts including Nils Lofgren, the Bottle Rockets and the Blood Oranges.
Terry Anderson: Solo recording artist, leader of the Olympic Ass-Kickin' Team, onetime drummer/singer/tunesmith with legendary North Carolina combos the Fabulous Knobs, the Woodpeckers and the Woods. Also a notable tunesmith whose songbook includes material recorded by Etta James, Jo Dee Messina and Dan Baird .
Dan Baird: Former lead singer/guitarist of the Georgia Satellites and unlikely gap-toothed MTV icon, thanks to the Satellites hits "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" and "Battleship Chains." Also a beloved and acclaimed solo artist, and sometime producer/sideman for the likes of Will Hoge, Chris Knight and the Dusters. Dan has his own new band named Homemade Sin with former Satellites Keith Christopher (see below) and Mauro Magellan.
Keith Christopher: Original Georgia Satellites member, bassist to the stars (including Billy Joe Shaver, Tony Joe White and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, as well as many artists with two names, including Paul Westerberg and Todd Snider), and consistent source of inspiration.
"Put the Hammer Down" the second album by the Yayhoos is like its predecessor, 2001's "Fear Not the Obvious" , the new 13-song collection is loaded with loud, smart, catchy rock 'n' roll, written, played and sung by four full-grown men who possess first-hand knowledge of rock 'n' roll's power to transcend and transform, as well as an instinctive understanding that it's not such a big deal.
While the band members' individual resumes have led many to label the Yayhoos a supergroup, the foursome's aggressively unpretentious output dispels any negative preconceptions associated with that term.
While the four Yayhoos continue to maintain their individual careers, the potency of their collective chemistry is evident !!!

When Flamingo released their EP they were contacted by the 50's group The Flamingos and were told "change the name or we sue". So the band dropped the "G" and became known as Flamin' Oh's. By this time the band was being called the Oh's anyway by all the regulars at the Longhorn.
The band released two albums on the Fat City Records label. Their debut LP was self-titled Flamin' Oh's. This became known as the GREEN album to the growing numbers of local followers. The band started playing to packed audiences at the Cabooze and Duffy's.
The Flamin' Oh's were one of the earliest bands to make music videos. Chuck Statler directed two videos including I Remember Romance from the first LP that had Joseph playing his keyboard atop a giant scrap steel pile. The video ran on a new television network dedicated to music, MTV.
The other video, Stop from the second LP Oh !, saw the members as classical musicians all decked out in tuxedos. Robert strummed a string harp, Bobby pounded on a kettle drum, Jody bowed a cello, and Joseph played a grand piano.
The band's busy touring schedule took them around the U.S. and was capped off with a festival performance in Bogata, Columbia.
Robert decided to cool it for a while after the last string of Oh's shows at the Union Bar during the summer of '87.

THE REAL IMPOSSIBLES Get the big picture 1984 Mini LP
Here and now / Another phase / You told her / It's not easy / Hanging on to you / Burned / Cherry cherry / Turned my world / Against the grain / Firing line / Something to learn

Talented guitarist, prolific songwriter, and down-to earth human being. These are just a few terms to describe Marc Platt, a Los Angeles-based, singer-songwriter who is making a difference in the lives of other musicians. Platt’s experience in the music business goes back to the early 80s, first as an artist and then as an employee of Rhino Records, back when the record label was in its infant stages. By the mid 80s, Platt had returned to performing full-time and formed the band, The Real Impossibles. Their 1986 EP, “Play Loud” was produced by Plimsouls’ (“Million Miles Away”) front-man, Peter Case and The Real Impossibles video, “Turn My World” was featured on MTV that same year. “When I was starting out in the 80s, I was a huge fan of the Plimsouls,” Platt said. “I hung out with Peter Case who took me under his wings and introduced me to people such as Elvis Costello, Peter Buck (REM), John Hiatt, Bonnie Raitt, Steve Earle, and T-Bone Burnett. “I really got an education watching these amazing artists work. I was a very lucky guy for getting to hang out with my idols at an impressionable age.” Platt went on to play in a few bands, but his real success has been in songwriting. He wrote songs for Universal’s 1993 A Taste for Killing and 1994 The Raffle in which two of the songs were featured on the soundtrack. His music has also been featured on ESPN. “I got lucky enough to get some songs in movies in the 90s,” said Platt. “They weren’t hit movies, but I found that getting to the producers was much more beneficial than music supervisors. I still make money off cable and DVDs from those projects.” More recently, Platt’s songs have been featured on TV shows such as Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, E-News True Hollywood, and Passions. He continues to write music for a variety of TV shows. “It’s easy to write for TV if you stay focused on the craft of songwriting,” says Platt who works with Maureen Davis, his songwriting partner. “She and I have written together for 10 years and we focus on what is going on in our relationships. We write and record them quickly and get a lot of TV shows.” In addition to his songwriting career, Platt performs on a regular basis at various venues throughout Los Angeles and Hollywood. Although he has a huge catalog of his original tunes, he also performs covers and is perhaps one of the best around at doing just that. Platt is very versatile, performing tunes by the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Leonard Bernstein, Neil Young and Joan Osborne to name a few. Platt released a CD of covers last year titled “Undercovermen” which includes “Moon River” “Won’t Get Fooled Again” (The Who), “Love” (John Lennon) among others. He believes the secret in performing covers well is the performer’s ability to make the song his or her own, without trying to imitate the style and sound of the artist they are covering. This is the sort of advice Platt gives to students at his performance workshop. The workshop is held every Sunday evening at Kulak’s Woodshed in North Hollywood. “I truly believe it is important to give back.” Platt said. “I was lucky enough to have a great teacher back in the early 80s in Bud Dashiell (Bud and Travis).” Platt stresses the importance of communication for performers and says that artists need to find a way to get their message across without relying on what they think people want to hear. Platt’s style is acoustic eclectic and echoes influences such as the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, the Beach Boys. His beautiful wife Deanna Pino is also a fabulous singer-songwriter. His recent releases include his 2004 CD, “Reinventing the Wheel,” “Just Like Me” and “Undercovermen” were both released in 2006. He has an upcoming release (March 2007) called “I’m So Awesome.”

,"Love & trouble", "Slash","Attacked , seduced and ..." et "You stepped in it now" ! Bonne surprise !

KILLDOZER - Killdozer

KILLDOZER Killdozer 1981 lp 320 kbps
Hurt you / Soul radio / Magic drums (When Fela blows his sax) / First I look at the purse / (Do the) Company walk / Funky street / Funka rollers / My thang / Hold on / 80's fun / Pills addict / Looking for a love* (bonus track-b side single)

Réalisation : J. N. Ogouz
Killdozer: R. Lapassade: vocals / E. Gonzales: lead & rhythm guitars / P. Brondel: drums , percussion , backin' vocals / P. Panchionne: bass , backin' vocals / J. P. Gouillo: rhythm guitar
Cd overs made by busy Max !!!

CUB KODA & THE POINTS - St

CUB KODA & THE POINTS Cub Koda & The Points 1980 Baron Records 256 kbps
Welcome to my job / Gettin' wild tonight / Jail bait / Tight jeans / Cadillac Jack / Cadillac walk /Pound it out / Crazy people / Sneakers on a rooster / Ducktail /The ballad of Guitar Johnny .
Produced Cub Koda.

CUB KODA & THE POINTS 1980:
C. Koda : vocals, guitar, harmonica
P. Bankert : bass
C. F. Schmidt : drums
G. J. Gaydos : guitar

There is 27 years that for their debut album, Cub KODA & The POINTS reunite for a musical thrill ride where blues, rockabilly and Dee-Troit Rock’n’Roll attitude all meet in a head-on assault of the senses; a place when Hound Dog Taylor meets the MC5 at the end of a dark alley. Crank it up and revel. In the mind-numbing rush of it all... They didn’t come all this way to shoot pool !!!
Keep on rockin' !

CUB KODA - Box Lunch

CUB KODA Box lunch 1998 J. Bird Records 320 kbps

We were crazy back then / Double barrel hell / Too much pain / No matter whay you say / How could life turn out this way / Runaway heart / Gimme trash / My luck's gone all the bad / Susan Hayward's diary .

Cub Koda : guitar , vocal , harmonica

This disc is one of the nicest musical surprises I have had in quite sometime. Just music in its purest form, Cub as the blues troubadour armed with just his acoustic guitar, voice, harmonica, and nine really contagious tunes, all penned by Cub. The intimacy of this disc is really haunting, and it makes you feel like the Cubmaster is in your living room performing just for you. Dishing out this collection of tales that take you through the gamut of human emotions, and then some. Throughout Koda's career with Brownsville station and as a solo artist, he has covered everything from rock and roll, to the blues, to rock-a-billy, to jazz, and more, and in the process has become a bonafide electric guitar hero. So with "Box Lunch" his first solo acoustic guitar outing Cub is adding a new dimension to his truly remarkable career. And yes the Cubmaster has got some terrific acoustic guitar chops, and yes he's still "Smokin' In The Boys Room". This one is definitely a keeper.

Cub Koda, Joey Gaydos, Peter Bankert, & "Cool" Fred Schmidt
For over thirty years the world's premier "House-Rocker", and probably the most underrated blues & rock guitarist Mr. Cub Koda has delivered the message of high octane, fun, in your face guitar based rock & blues on stages and recording studio's all over the world with the likes of Brownsville Station, The Del-Tino's, The Housrockers, Blackfoot, & many others. With the release of Cub Koda & The Point's latest recording "Noise Monkeys", which features eleven studio tracks, and two tunes cut live,Cub's message has never been delivered with as much precision & clarity. From the opening track the Bo Diddley influenced "Fast-Food Slow Death" laced with it's thicker than pea soup guitar tone & it's relentless in the pocket rhythm you know you have stumbled onto a phenomenal recording, as it keeps getting better track by track, until the recording culminates with The Cubmasters mind boggling reading of the Link Wray classic "Fire & Brimstone". Cub & The Point are on a mission and if you love high energy blues based rock & roll served Detroit style by one of the greatest blues guitarists backed by a kick-ass band then this disc belongs in your collection & it is guarenteed to give you a lifetime of pleasure & inspiration.

COUNT BISHOPS 1

SINGLES COUNT BISHOPS Speedball EP 1975 Chiswick wav

Route 66 / I ain't got you / Beautiful Delilah / Teenage letter / Sweet little sixteen (bonus track)

Count bishops 1975 :

Johnny Guitar : guitar , vocals
Paul Balbi : drums
Steve Lewins : bass
Zen (Xenon de Fleur) : guitar , vocals
Mike Spencer : vocals , harp

July '75 and a band called CHROME were sculling around the third rate pub circuit long before Mr Rotten and Co. had pissed in their first ash tray. Ted Carroll looked at the Melody Maker gig guide(erama), pushed his glasses back up his nose and decided that with a name like that they had to be the first band on CHISWICK RECORDS. A week later, accompanied by diminutive partner, Roger Armstrong, he slunk into a seedy pub in Highbury and was confronted by four mean looking characters playing Chuck Berry riffs as if their lives depended on it. To the right, chewing gum and looking like he would eat your cat was ZENON HIEROWSKY; (later de Fleur) by any other name THE COUNT BISHOPS had arrived. Maniac American Mike Spencer inveigled his way into the operation several weeks later, sacked most of the band, brought JOHNNY GUTTAR over from the States on the promise of a vast record deal (CHISWICK RECORDS I ask you?) and gave birth to THE (original) COUNT BISHOPS. After one disastrous recording session, where the bass player couldn't even play "Walkin' The Dog", they went into Pathway Studios (8 tracks and no air) in August '75 and in about 7 hours laid down 13 blistering rock and roll tracks from which, in November of that year emerged the first release on CHISWICK, THE COUNT BISHOPS SPEEDBALL E.P.

It didn't exactly set the world on fire, but through the vast Rock On Empire of two market stalls and few sympathetic dealers it managed to shift its initial pressing of 1,000 copies in a surprising short space of time. Not long after the band drifted away from CHISWICK, for a while to a small Dutch label called Dynamite for which they recorded "Taking It Easy/Train Train". CHISWICK picked up the rights for this, flipped it to make "Train Train" the A side and released it as their fifth single. In the meantime Mike Spencer had left the band in an incident involving an unfriendly plate glass window. The four piece band that had recorded "Train Train" allowed an album of what were essentially demos to escape in Holland and went on to lay down backing tracks for what was to become the first '"official'' COUNT BISHOPS album.

At this point singer DAVE TICE was drafted by drummer and fellow Australian PAUL BALBI to complete the five piece line up that recorded "THE COUNT BISHOPS" album. Dave overdubbed his vocals on the already recorded backing tracks and the album came out in July '77. The single Baby Your Wrong/stay Free had already been pulled in April of that year.

During the rest of '77 and the early part of '78 the band gigged extensively building up a strong personal following despite being fairly unfashionable in the face of the punk publicity onslaught. In the Spring of '78 they recorded some live material at the Roundhouse for a projected live CHISWICK album featuring 6 different CHISWICK acts. Although the projected album never got off the ground THE BISHOPS set was so good that it warranted an album of its own. ''LIVE BISHOPS'' was released later that summer in 10"and 12"form with a name abbreviation to simply THE BISHOPS and a further personal change, PAT MCMULLAN replacing original bass player Steve Lewins. On the back of the album they toured with Motorhead equalling themselves more than adequately in front of the braying heavy metal fanatics with their red hot rock and roll.In April '78 the Sam & Dave classic "I Take What I Want" was unleashed to excellent radio play but slightly disappointing sales. The blistering "I Want Candy" came out in September as the first release through the EMI deal with CHISWICK, and though the sales were encouraging this time and the band made their first Top of The Pops appearance, the lack of radio action could not sustain the record to give it the chart placing it deserved.

And so into '79 with a lot of road work behind them, two critically acclaimed albums (and rightly so) one single that got the play but not the sales and one that got the initial sales but not the play (not to mention one bona fide classic in Train Train).

Three weeks ago the BISHOPS completed the album that they had been working on since early '78. Two days later ZENON DE FLEUR crashed his DB6 into a tree and died in hospital one week later. Despite the tragic loss, the band decided to continue as doubtless ZEN would have wished. Ironically, this looks like the one to break them .

"CROSSCUTS" will be out at the beginning of May with "Mr Jones" lifted as the single, and if hard work and commitment still mean anything then this album deserves to make it, for these boys have paid their dues several times over.
